Since sweeping the Tony’s in 2011, winning nine awards including Best Musical, the satirically religous hit Book of Mormon has garnered praise and provoked laughter around the world. From the creators of South Park, the story follows a young Mormon missionary who moves to Uganda to spread the good word. This protagonist has never actually read the Book of Mormon, however, so he tells locals his own zany, made up myths. Clever and cheeky from start to finish, Book of Mormon is one of the funniest productions to ever hit Broadway.
Expanding its audience, the Book of Mormon will be at Kennedy Center Opera House here in Washington, DC on the banks of the Potomac River all summer long.
