Black Friday in Washington D.C. is going to be better than ever this year! Regarded as one of the biggest shopping days of the year, Black Friday is no longer just a day, as it is now spilling into Thanksgiving Day with many malls and retailers opening before dinner is even finished. Many stores are still finalizing their hours but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as these are posted.
Macy’s has announced they are kicking off Black Friday in Washington D.C. earlier than ever and will open their doors at 6:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving . Other nationwide retailers that will open their doors on Thanksgiving night include, Kmart, Best Buy Old Navy, Potomac Mills Mall, Kohls, JC Penney, Target, Office Depot and Dicks Sporting Goods.
You definitely don’t want to head into Black Friday without a strong strategy in place. Here are some handy tips before you hit the stores:
- Do your research! Don’t head into a major retailer unprepared. There are tons of discounts and deals available but you have to know exactly which flat screen 40” TV is on sale before getting caught up in the mad dash frenzy.
- Look online first! Just as many good deals can be found online. This can maximize your time spent with leftovers and you can enjoy the fun of Black Friday shopping while enjoying your post-thanksgiving cranberry sauce & turkey sandwich in your p.j.’s.
- Divide and conquer. Because you’re just one person, we recommend hitting the stores with a crew. That way you can scour the best deals in the store without tirelessly running throughout the first store you visit.
- Plan your route. Tysons Corner and the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City are large malls, we recommend going online and printing a map of the stores and creating your Black Friday shopping route before you arrive.
