Summer is always a great season for live music and festivals, especially in culture-loving Washington DC. Looking to some of the city’s most popular venues, and favorite traditions, these are some of the DC-area summer concerts and festivals that we are most looking forward to.

Capital Pride

June 9 & 10

Washington’s annual Pride festival and parade is a yearly celebration of the LGBTQ community, honoring the progress we’ve come and the steps we still need to take for equality.

Smithsonian Folklife Festival

June 27 – July 1st

The Smithsonian Folklife Festival is beloved tradition near the Smithsonian Castle on Washington, DC’s National Mall. Walk over from the Capitol Hill Hotel to enjoy this sprawling showcase of local and international folk music talent this June and July.

The Eagles & James Taylor

July 26th

There are few voices in the history of music that are as soothing and wise as James Taylor’s. The magician behind timeless classics like “Fire and Rain” is joining forces with The Eagles for an epic night of classic rock in DC this July.

Zac Brown Band & OneRepublic

July 27th

One of the most popular American country music bands is coming to DC’s favorite ballpark this summer. The Georgia-based Zac Brown Band will bring along timeless hit songs like “Chicken Fried,” “Toes,” and “Colder Weather.” The pop-sensation band OneRepublic will also be on the ticket.

Beyonce and Jay Z

July 28th

Music’s biggest power couple is hitting the road this summer for a tour that will rouse crowds by sourcing material from two incomparably iconic catalogues of tunes. They’ve already made headlines for this year’s performance at the world-famous Coachella music festival, and now some of that magic will come to one of the DMV area’s favorite venues.
