If you’re looking to catch a sports game (or maybe participate in a run) during your visit to DC, we’ve got you covered. Here are our top five picks for sports events to attend this summer.

Washington Mystics v Seattle Storm – Tuesday, June 27, 2017

Seek refuge from the hot weather in the cool air-conditioned Verizon Center as you watch the Washington Mystics, the city’s WNBA team, play a heated game of basketball. The match we’re most excited for is the June 27th game against the Seattle Storm, which will bring the Mystics head-to-head against one of the league’s top teams.

Nationals vs Braves – July 6-9, 2017

Book your tickets now for a  chance to see DC’s local MLB franchise, the Washington Nationals, battle it out against the Atlanta Braves, one of the most interesting teams in the league. With the Braves on the mend after a rough 2016 season following their 2014 high, this year will be one to watch. Head over to Nationals Park early to grab a beer so you don’t miss a second of the action of this sure-to-be-close match-up.

Potomac Nationals vs. Wilmington–  July 7-10, 2017

Instead of shelling out for pricey tickets, have a budget-friendly family day out with a trip to see the Potomac Nationals, DC’s minor league baseball team. Take bets on which of the players have a future in the big leagues ahead of them and have a relaxing day getting to see some professional baseball up close instead of on the big screen.

Bubble Run – August 12, 2017

Hardcore athletes and those looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon will both have a fantastic time at this year’s Bubble Run in Virginia. Held in August, the run involves a three-mile sprint through waves and waves of bubbles. You’ll feel accomplished and proud of reaching a fitness goal while dancing, laughing, and having fun.

Nationals vs Reds – June 23-25, 2017

We couldn’t resist recommending at least one more Nationals game, especially given that the team is shaping up for a strong season this year. Our recommendation for a great game of ball is the upcoming match against the Cincinnati Reds, where top players like Zack Cozart and Devin Mesoraco will be gearing up for a victory against DC’s Nats.
