We all know the National Mall as the home to some of the Washington D.C.’s most iconic exhibits but did you know there are a number of concerts that take place on the National Mall as well?
During the summer, pack a picnic blanket, yummy snacks and head to the mall to enjoy the annual Music on the Mall free (that’s right free) concert series. Concerts are held at 7th and Jefferson Drive. Last summer music fans enjoyed everything from acoustic guitar and spoken word poetry to instrumental African music.

In October of 2014 HBO recently filmed the Concert for Valor which featured Eminem, Dave Grohl, Bruce Springsteen, Carrie Underwood and Rihanna. Couldn’t make the concert? The show will air on HBO on November 11.
