The nation’s capital is home to a diverse array of cultures and ethnicities, one of the most vibrant of which will be celebrated on Saturday, February 14. The Chinese New Year Family Festival in Washington DC is the District’s most prominent celebration of the Lunar New Year, bringing revelers from around the region together for a free midday party.
Presented in concert with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese New Year Family Festival sends off the past year with arts, crafts, traditional Chinese performances and educational demonstrations. The all-ages celebration ushers in the year of the sheep on the Chinese Lunar calendar.
The Smithsonian American Art Museum is just a brief 17-minute Metro ride away or a short 10-minute drive away from the Capitol Hill Hotel. Our hotel near the Smithsonian offers comfortable accommodations in the heart of DC.
