There’s no better way to celebrate Christmas than with a trip to the Nutcracker, and no better to perform Tchaikovsky’s stunning seasonal tale than the Moscow Ballet? The troupe will stage The Great Russian Nutcracker at Silver Spring’s Strathmore Theater. Costumes and sets are all Russian-made and include a 60-foot tall Christmas tree, sure to excite the kids in the audience looking forward to the holiday. Another interesting element of the show is the second act—the company is dedicated to promoting world peace and accordingly sets Act II in the Land of Peace and Harmony, not the Land of Sweets.
