Every year the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC celebrates one of the area’s age-old beauties and visual marvels. Gifted to our nation’s capital by Japan in 1909, the cherry blossom trees have since become a staple attraction for visitors to Capitol Hill and the city beyond. This nearly-month-long festival features an array of events including a parade down Constitution Avenue, sake tastings, Japanese film screenings, art tours, panel discussions on climate change and more.
