Every year, The National Cherry Blossom Festival takes over Washington, DC for the end of March, and the beginning of April. The event aligns with the annual bloom of the cherry blossom trees, which are planted throughout the city, but most famously along the Tidal Basin, across from the Jefferson Memorial. Each year, The National Cherry Blossom Festival features an array of musical, dance, and theatrical performances from both American and Japanese talents. The festival celebrates cultural exchange between the two countries, as the cherry blossoms originally came to DC as a gift from Japan to the United States. It’s a fun and unique festival with a whole lot of events to check out.
