Roald Dahl’s fantastical story about a young-girl-genius with superpowers originally seemed only suited for the free-form realm of literature. Then, Danny DeVito and friends made the timeless movie adaptation in 1996. Then,it materialized on stage with Dennis Kelly’s Tony-winning musical, which debuted in 2010. Now, Matilda the Musical is on the road and headed for DC’s Opera House this December and January. Local theater and Dahl lovers can watch Matilda and Miss Honey battle the evil Miss Trunchbull in the heartwarming tale and magnificent production for this limited time only.
