Looking back on the marches he led, the monumental progress he spurred, and the problems he solved, it’s safe to say that Martin Luther King, Jr., is one of America’s most essential figures. Capitol Hill, a place graced and honored by Dr. King’s sacrifices and political achievements, honors Martin Luther King Jr. Day with full hearts.
The focal points of DC’s MLK Day celebrations is the 9th Annual Peace Walk and Parade. Large crowds will gather in the heart of the District to commemorate America’s hero and the most prominent emblem of the civil rights movement.
The MLK Peace Walk and Parade begins at 2500 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE, just across the Anacostia River from the Capitol Hill area.
