One of SNL’s all-time-great heavyweights, the star of comedic classics Beverly Hills Cop, Coming to America and Shrek, and one delirious stand up routine, Eddie Murphy is a rare talent. The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will celebrate his career and personality this October by presenting Murphy with the 18th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The first recipient of the award was Richard Pryor in 1998 and other honorees have included Tina Fey, Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal, and George Carlin.
