Film buffs can start getting excited for the city’s annual independent film festival. No matter what your genre interests, you’ll be sure to find something that appeals to you at this annual event. All films being showcased during the five-day festival are being screened in DC for the first time (and some are national or world premieres), so you can count on seeing something new and interesting. Past offerings have included animated shorts from Australia, Belgium, and the United Arab Emirates, a Canadian comedy about a pair of siblings scheming to get a talk show. Guests can also expect a series of receptions and panel discussions with the directors and actors behind the movies.
