Firstly, the name of this event is about equally as cute as the function itself. Boo at the Zoo is a family friendly Halloween celebration thrown by the Smithsonian National Zoological Park. As one of Washington DC’s favorite childhood attractions, the zoo provides an ideal atmosphere for entire families to take part in the beloved holiday. The three night event boasts treat stations, animal performances, fun walking trails and a whole lot more for attendees to enjoy.
With all the worldly and exotic animals around, the fantastical Halloween stage is set perfectly for all of the fun attractions. Boo at the Zoo maintains its grand presentation while still keeping in mind kids’ favorite Halloween tradition— treats and candy. The event will be fully stocked with great chocolates, healthy snacks and a variety of other treats provided by Mars, Incorporated and Whole Food Market. Acting sponsors of the event, these food companies work alongside California Tortilla, Coca Cola, Comcast and a variety of other business to put on Boo at the Zoo.
The reason there are so many people behind this celebration is because of its accessibility and fun. The Smithsonian National Zoo is accessible by DC Metro public transportation and stocked with parking for drivers. The costs also make attendance a less than stressful commitment maxing out at $30 per ticket for non-FONZ members.
