Students, yoga moms pushing strollers, old men, you name it. Everybody loves to run on the National Mall and here are a few reasons why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>THE SCENERY<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Come on. The number of iconic sites one can see on their run on the National Mall is absurd. Just to name a few, you\u2019ll get to jog by the Capitol Building, World War II Memorial, Reflecting Pool, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Tidal Basin and White House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.capitolhill-dc.dev.nextguest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/IMG_4041.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49\" srcset=\"https:\/\/capitolhillcen.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/IMG_4041.jpg 700w, https:\/\/capitolhillcen.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/IMG_4041-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>IT\u2019S A GOOD LOOP<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Map My Run, a full loop around the National Mall is just under 4.3 miles. A solid distance for any runner, it\u2019s also easy to cut short as the long, rectangular stretch of land is fairly easy to navigate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.capitolhill-dc.dev.nextguest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/IMG_3953.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-52\" srcset=\"https:\/\/capitolhillcen.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/IMG_3953.jpg 700w, https:\/\/capitolhillcen.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/IMG_3953-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>VARIED TERRAIN<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The elevation of the run only varies about 36 feet in total, but the options for surface are as eclectic as you can get. The National Mall has concrete running paths, asphalt roads, and a long stretch of green grass lawn so unless you prefer track or astroturf, you\u2019re good to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.capitolhill-dc.dev.nextguest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/IMG_4048.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-53\" srcset=\"https:\/\/capitolhillcen.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/IMG_4048.jpg 700w, https:\/\/capitolhillcen.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/IMG_4048-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>PEOPLE<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Mall is always filled with people wandering around taking photos and enjoying the sites. When you\u2019re surrounded by so many eyes, it\u2019s quite inspiring.
